OUR STORY
Cro-a-sail is a unique multidisciplinary project oriented toward bringing top-level Croatian skippers and sailing crews to the most elite and demanding regattas in Croatia and the world. The project aims to uniting the most skilled competitive sailors in one single team strong enough to compete successfully in every single discipline. The biggest challenge of the project - and the source of greatest pleasure - for the organizer is choosing individual members for the team, creating top-notch crews and developing team sailing in the country, primarily aboard one-design and performance cruiser sailboats. The heart and soul of the project are experienced Croatian sailors who are thus given the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to compete with the world’s elite. Hundreds of years of sailing experience, undisputed talent of Croatian sailors and skippers and the success they have thus far achieved in international competitions are the perfect base for creating a Croatian sport brand - ushered and promoted by the Cro-a-sail project - and systematically passing the gained knowledge onto younger generations, assuring continuous success of the team.In its first 18 months the Cro-a-sail team has participated in various regattas, with both sport and marketing success, and the new stage of its development will begin in fall 2006 with the arrival of their new sailboats - a Russell Coutts 44, and the biggest competition sailing machine in the Adriatic, Cro-a-sail Maxi Jena. ![]() Cro-a-sail is divided in four sections that cover sailing and marketing activities and is therefore unique even outside Croatia. Those 4 projects are what competitive sailing of today is all about, and are all backed by impeccable logistic and endorsed by the biggest names of Croatian and international sailing world. Cro-a-sail One Design The team has up to now concentrated on the most popular One Design class in Europe - Mumm 30, and soon will embark on a new adventure competing on Russell Coutts 44. Cro-a-sail IMS Some of the strongest competitions in Croatia in the past few years have been the IMS championships, and Croatian teams have proved to be rather successful in them - a success expected to last. Cro-a-sail Olympic The Cro-a-sail team is proud to have one of the best Croatian skippers of all times - Olympian Mate Arapov, whose support and involvement in this part of the project is a guarantee of success. Cro-a-sail Maxi The biggest sailing boat in the Adriatic - Cro-a-sail Maxi Jena - will soon face the fiercest competition in the regattas of Mrduja (Croatia) and Barcolana (Italy) |
